Halsey shreds G-Eazy on SNL performance

After a week of hype, Halsey delivered a Saturday Night Live performance to remember. Pulling double-duty as host and performer, Halsey roasted her ex-boyfriend, rapper G-Eazy with her moving but scathing performance of "Without Me." Halsey dropped "Without Me" last October after the two briefly tried to rekindle their romance. They ended their whirlwind relationship amidst rumors of cheating. Halsey even took some not very thinly veiled shots of her own in the aftermath. pumpkin eater.— h (@halsey) July 4, 2018 In spite of the heartache, "Without Me" has become Halsey's first No. 1 track as a solo artist, setting up her upcoming album to be her biggest yet. From getting drenched in rainfall at the MTV EMAs to her charged and poignant wlw-inspired performance the The Voice, every live performance has given the song a fresh look from a different angle. However, her SNL performance went for the kill. Halsey took a softer...

ICYMI: Avril Lavigne’s comeback, Pussy Riot survives poisoning, & more

There’s a lot of music to keep track of and not enough hours in the day. That’s why every week, BANSHEE will catch you up on the music news you need to know! Pussy Riot member "okay" after being poisoned It's hard not to wonder how Pussy Riot manages to continue it's activism under Russia's politically repressive climate, rife with poisoning, arrests, and murders. But last month, the group cut it close. Pussy Riot members were arrested this summer during the World Cup when they ran...

CONCERT: Halsey says goodbye to ‘Hopeless’

Halsey’s Hopeless Fountain Kingdom tour may be on its final installment but the Providence, RI stop was still a night of firsts. Her very first tour stop in Rhode Island boasted a sold-out crowd. Avid fans from across the east coast were lining up as early as Tuesday to get into the July 11 show at Bold Point Park. Opening for Halsey was Jessie Reyez who dialed the energy up to 11 when she took the stage, her vengeful track “Gatekeeper” striking some chords in the crowd. “Gatekeeper” calls back on a pivotal and chilling moment in her career when a producer who, early in her career, told Reyez “If you wanna make it in this industry, you gotta suck some dick.” Halsey’s intimate show was replete with her usual pyrotechnics, backdrops, and theatrics typical of her arena shows, now set against the stunning backdrop of the sunset over the water. Opening her...
