Kim Petras brings the bubblegum back to pop

On a vaporwave-inspired stage surrounded by pink-washed Roman columns, Kim Petras brought her patent brand of sweet electro-pop to The Sinclair.  This sold out stop of the Broken Tour in Cambridge, Mass., had fans packed wall to wall to see Petras at her first-ever headlining North American tour. The pop starlet’s last stop in Boston was as the support for Troye Sivan’s Bloom Tour in October 2018. Flowers, pride flags, and a unique sense of unity is the scene that was set for the Boston stop of Troye Sivan's Bloom Tour. Longtime fans of Sivan know and recognize Boston as a city of traditions, many of which were revisited on the evening of Oct. 12. Featuring pop comet Kim Petras and longtime collaborator Leland, the Bloom Tour has proven to be a celebration of queerness in every capacity. Evanescence hit the road this summer with co-headliner Lindsey Stirling to support their latest album, Synthesis, which features reimagined versions of their older songs. On July 18, Lindsey Stirling took the opening slot of the tour at the Xfinity Center in Mansfield, MA. Stirling's silhouette was enough to have the venue exploding into cheers. Against the backdrop of a film covering her journey from a talent show and YouTube presence to a global phenomenon through the trials and tribulations that are attached to success, Lindsey came high-kicking her way into the evening.
