Evanescence planning first album of new music in eight years

After eight years, Evanescence revealed that an album of original music is in the works. Vocalist Amy Lee made the reveal during an interview on WRIF 101.1 FM’s Meltdown. “That’s the plan,” she said when asked about if Evanescence was planning on releasing any new music in the future. Though there is no timeline, Lee confirmed that their next project would be a new album. “You will hear from us again.” She added that new potential material has been piling up “over the years.” The album would be their first original release since 2011’s self-titled album. Lee also tackled topics like social media, the logistics of collaborating with orchestras while on tour, motherhood, and achieving success. You can listen to the full interview here. The band is currently on tour with Lindsey Sterling supporting Synthesis, a compilation of reimagined versions of songs from their previous three albums.
