Billie Eilish talks mental health and music
Billie Eilish doesn’t shy away from anything whether it’s dark music or mental health.
The “bury a friend” singer opened up about mental health in a video PSA with AdCouncil. The organization’s new Seize the Awkward initiative encourages people to support friends during challenging times and open a dialogue about mental health.
“It doesn’t make you weak to ask for help, it doesn’t,” Billie says in the video. “It doesn’t make you weak to ask for a friend, to go to a therapist. It shouldn’t make you feel weak to ask for ask anyone for help.”
She reiterates that although these conversations can be difficult or awkward, they don’t have to be. Reaching out to a friend can be as casual as “how are you feeling?”
“Say ‘are you okay?'” She stresses. “Ask somebody.”
